There are more than 1.4 million subscribers to a major online telecoms service, it has been revealed. This was detailed in a letter sent from Google to the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) last week, Business Week has reported. According to a copy of the letter obtained by the news provider, 570,000 of these subscribers use the telecoms application every day. In a statement to the publication, the firm said: "We had intended to keep sensitive information regarding our partners and the number of Google Voice users confidential. Unfortunately, the PDF submitted to the FCC was formatted improperly." The letter has since been replaced with a new copy which does not reveal the subscription figures. Google Voice launched in the US in March of this year. It provides a free phone number for users, with inbound calls sent to this number and outbound calls routed through a domestic or international location.
