A new publication examining the process of managing an integrated telecommunications network has been released. The ebook, titled Do You See What I'm Saying?, is aimed at telecoms processes such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and unified communications. Jeff Hicks, author of the resource, commented new trends within the telecommunications sector, such as the growth of multi-faceted contact centres, are resulting in bosses requiring more advanced knowledge than in previous years. He added: "Network convergence is forcing network managers to have specialised application expertise they didn't need in the past." Mr Hicks went on to say his work could equip employees with a greater understanding of VoIP and unified communications. There are four chapters within the 115-page document, covering topics such as protocols, call performance and service quality. Elsewhere, a new report claims there is still some confusion around the unified communications sector as to which areas the term actually covers.
