A growing number of estate agents are choosing to make their businesses entirely e-commerce and call centre-based, it has been observed.
Daniel Lee, chief executive officer of property search engine Globtrix, notes that members of the property industry are realising that they can achieve cost savings by shifting towards the online sector.
Such firms may substitute an online shopping presence with a telecommunications solution such as a call centre, he explains.
Mr Lee compares this trend to the travel industry, which has been the subject of a substantial shift towards online operations.
He notes: "We have seen an increasing number of agents improving the quality of their websites as they realise that they are judged by its quality much as they would have been judged by their estate agency buildings and locations in the past."
A new report in E-consultancy suggests that online marketers should focus on the sales monitoring aspect of web analytics by approaching rich media and social networking in a strategic way.
