Nottinghamshire Police has been recognised for the high standard of its call centres. The body was highly commended at the European Call Centre Awards, thanks to the work that it has put into this area since April 2007. A major part of this has been the implementation of the Crime Wizard programme into its control room call centres, with this allowing response times to be cut. Pauline Smith, head of contract centre operations for Nottinghamshire Police, commented that this recognition represents a "fantastic achievement". She said: "Throughout the project we have maintained high levels of service, something which can be difficult to achieve and the benefits of the changes have already been felt." In other news, not-for-profit firm Tristar Homes has announced that it has improved its customer service efficiency thanks to a new consumer care complex. The company, which deals with the maintenance of Stockton Borough Council's housing stock, stated that it is also able to deal with a higher volume of calls because of this.
