Broadband provider O2 has picked up a leading industry award for its customer service.
The firm fought off competition from rivals including Virgin, Tiscali and Sky to win the top spot in the Thinkbroadband Customer Service Awards 2009.
Succeeding in the large internet service provider (ISP) category, O2 picked up 75 per cent of the vote and was followed by BE Broadband and PlusNet.
This is now the second year running where O2 has won top honours in the industry awards.
Meanwhile, new entrant AAISP came in at first place in the niche ISP category, scooping 89 per cent of votes.
Zen Internet and IDNET won second and third position in this group.
"The Thinkbroadband Customer Service Awards are based entirely on user ratings submitted monthly for broadband service providers, giving you a true representation of the satisfaction of users of various services," the organisers explained in a statement.
