Figures from the Boston Computer Network indicate that six per cent of all PCs are likely to suffer a data loss episode in any given year, while 31 per cent of all PC users have experienced total loss of all files due to an unexpected disaster.
"Losing data that is important can breach confidentiality," explained the Small Business Computing worker.
She said that the impact of data breaches can extend beyond financial loss, as such episodes could impair a company's reputation or integrity.
