E-commerce sites may find their conversions boosted by the incorporation of about us sections in their blogs, new advice indicates.
According to Search Engine People, online shopping companies often see their traffic increased when they establish blogs, but are sometimes stuck on how to turn these visits into sales.
The site's Jennifer Osborne suggests that customers may be deterred from buying if they cannot find any information about a company's history online.
"I find myself thinking: Wow. Why haven't I heard of these guys before? Who are they? And sadly, I'm left wondering because there is no about us page. And if you're afraid to tell me who you are - then I don't trust you," she says.
Including an about us section can solve this e-commerce problem, she suggests.
Peer opinions are treated with three times the trust received by adverts, a recent JupiterResearch report, called Social Networking Sites: Defining Advertising Opportunities, suggested.
