A series of events are to be held celebrating the role of call centres and the people who work within them.
International Contact Centre Week will be taking part between September 1st and 8th and was launched last year by Contactcenterworld.com.
Among the activities organised as part of the event are fun sessions designed to improve call centre staff motivation, to raise the industry's profile and help generate funds for charity.
Raj Wadhwani, the website's president, claims that the sector should recognise the contribution it makes to the world.
He says: "It's time for the industry to celebrate, to have fun and recognise the brilliant and important people who are working in this amazing industry."
Mr Wadhwani says that his website established the event to span international boundaries and that it is free to participate in.
Among the ideas that it suggests for call centre staff are holding a cooking competition, a charity car wash, a hat day or a belly dancing competition.
