Companies with call centres in the north east are being urged to put themselves forward for a number of awards at a ceremony recognising achievements in this area.
The closing date for the 2009 North East Contact Centre Awards is September 4th and it intends to celebrate those firms making a major contribution to the local economy.
Its theme is Unveiling the Region's Talent and a number of sessions on making successful applications are being run in Sunderland next month.
Paul Buie, manager of organiser the Tyne and Wear Development Company, claims that the awards are going from strength-to-strength each year.
He states: "The region has a contact centre industry which it can be proud of with businesses making a major contribution to the area both in terms of jobs and investment."
Last year's winners included More Than's Donna Ward, who was named Customer Service Champion of Champions, CE Electric UK's Gillian Brough, Contact Centre Advisor of the Year, and the awards' Brightest New Star, Christopher Banks from Fusion.
