Call centres were invited to take part in a UK charity fundraising event last weekend.
Sport Relief - which took place between March 14th and 16th - asked call centres to get involved in a nationwide campaign to raise funds for charity.
Companies were asked to donate their call centres on Friday 14th March to help raise money for the endeavour, with the gesture billed as a "fun, team building and moral boosting" way to contribute to a good cause.
For call centres to be involved, they had to offer about 80 lines and a strong base of staff able to take thousands of calls from viewers on Friday.
It is not the first time call centres were asked to help with a nationwide charity event - Red Nose Day 2007 saw 138 call centres with 21,000 volunteers take £18.5 million in donations.
"To put it simply, we just couldn't do what we do without the incredible support of so many wonderful call centres across the land," asserts the Comic Relief website.
Money raised by Sport Relief is spent by Comic Relief to fund projects assisting vulnerable people in Britain and across the world.
