Customer care jobs are set to be protected after a call centre was sold. The First Group, which specialises in transport services, is offloading its FirstInfo Ltd Fort William consumer care complex. However, it has been confirmed by the company that the 57 jobs at the site are safe. The First Group is also selling a facility in Plymouth, and it has revealed that positions at this facility are also protected. A spokesperson from the firm told the Press and Journal: "No redundancies are planned as a result of the sale and staff will continue to carry out their work at both locations.
"Staff are being informed today that it will be business as usual following the sale to Intelenet and that First Group has agreed a seven-year contract for its services." The news comes after 150 call centre jobs were recently saved when it was announced that positions at Alliance and Leicester in Leeds are being transferred to Bradford.
