British call centres helped raise £21 million for Sport Relief last weekend, it has emerged.
According to Call Centre Focus, call centre agents from across the UK rallied between March 14th and 16th to help the Comic Relief spin-off gather funds for charitable causes.
Sport Relief has an international focus, with money given to the cause directed to a variety of charitable endeavours in the UK and all over the world.
This year saw at least £21 million raised through the event, by staff at call centres from companies including Bupa, Homeserve and 2Touch.
Peopling fundraising lines, these call centre agents helped coordinate Britons' giving over the phone.
The publication notes that further details of the extend to which call centres were involved in Sport Relief is yet to come.
Last year saw call centres raise some £18.5 million for Red Nose Day, the Comic Relief website asserts.
The online resource praises the "incredible support" of call centres in helping to raise money.
